THE CHALLENGE“Our brand doesn’t reflect our audience anymore, we’re moving away from perfect looks onto Do-it-yourself looks inspired by yout culture, we need our brand identity to reflect this shift”
SENZI provides international hair education for stylists They combine teaching geometric cutting techniques, with inspiration from popular culture, so that stylists have new foundation to develop their own professional vision.
Launched in Tokyo in 2017, since then they offered education seminars, workshops and 1:1 classes across 35 countries. The team works at the intersection of small local businesses and high fashion catwalks. Combining the rigour of cutting, styling and colouring crafts with the wit of brands such as Martine Rose and Balenciaga.
Their mission is to promote individuality, encouraging bold styling choices inspired by youth culture movements such as DYI haircuts, and undone hair.

THE PROCESSI’ve worked as a Creative Director and advisor to conceive, design and execute a brand identity guideline with touchpoints across social media, editorial and web.
Contributed to the launch of the SENZI SESSIONS platform, an online education platform offering seven haircutting courses with foundation techniques such as disconnections, sectioning, razor work and shaping. Alongside the thinking process behind the looks, model’s interviews, and haircut diagrams. Find SENZI SESSIONS here.

THE BRAND IDEAThe name is inspired by ‘SENSEI’ the japanese word for teacher. Inspired by japanese sensibility for craft, and european youth culture, the brand combines craft with grit in everything they do, from street casting to art collaborations.
The logo embodies the fusion of Senzi (S) and the Education Experience (E), illustrating a commitment to shaping style and craft at their intersection.
It integrates an 'S' and 'E' into one mark, resembling a book. The enclosed first half signifies the guidance and knowledge provided by teachers, while the open second half points upwards and outwards, symbolizing the active participation and potential of SENZI students in completing their educational journey.
